Farmers Dignity

Dignity and Charity are two opposites.
Dignity has no room for charity and hence both cannot coexist.
This is amply exemplified by the proverb:-
‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime’.
Dignity empowers while charity cripples with dependence.

Farmers and specially the landless farmers (56% of the farming community in India are landless; i.e. they are farm laborers without land holding and are the poorest of the poor) are distraught with despair at their plight as they have nowhere to turn to get out of their hopeless situation. These farmers need knowledge, spiritual, emotional and moral support to guide them through difficult times.

With our rich cultural heritage if there was a gurukul within 5 kms radius, a farmer could send his children to school manned by a guru/teacher with wisdom, courage and compassion to provide not only traditional and modern education but also spiritual strength and resilience to face any difficulty for the entire farming community. All gurukuls are connected with high speed internet to enable two way connectivity between each member of the farming community and central/state governments.

This two way connectivity opens up a world of possibilities for every member of the farming community namely:-

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Best farming practices
  • Rain water harvesting
  • Water conservation
  • Reforestation
  • Predicting supply and demand of any crop for best market realization
  • Sanitation
  • Organic farming methods
  • Organic pesticides
  • Banking
  • Credit facilities
  • Loans
  • Credit rating and eligibility
  • Micro finance
  • Handicrafts
  • Emarkets
  • Agri tourism
  • Sericulture
  • Apiary
  • Animal husbandry
  • Transportation of farm produce
  • Global crop prices and prediction
  • Emergency services
And many more… In short, empowering every member of the farming community to fend for themselves with dignity and pride.

For central/state governments, it opens up the possibilities to:-

  • Connect and understand the condition and needs of every member of the farming community
  • Provide the tools and infrastructure necessary for every member to fend for themselves namely:-
  • Providing data of supply and demand of any crop for best market realization
  • Precise rainfall and weather prediction for better crop sowing and management
  • Providing topography and techniques for farming communities to themselves create/sustain soil conditions and water bodies throughout the year
  • Create an infrastructure of rail/road/transportation network for ease and low cost transportation of farm produce to nearby markets
  • Create e-markets with escrow accounts to sell farm produce online with delivery to be effected within 2 days to the nearest market place

Blockchain technology is available to enable the Government of India to track the profitability of each and every member of the farming community.

India is slated to be the largest global economy by the year 2050. This can only be achieved if the farming community consisting of almost 55% of the Indian population is a partner to the road to prosperity with nobody left behind.

Dignity is the highway to self generated sustained prosperity.
